About me
The Making Literature Conference is officially the William A. Fry Undergraduate Conference on Literature and Writing. Dr. William A. Fry served as English department chair at Taylor from 1978 until his retirement in 1998. Bill was trained first as a minister at Nyack College, then received a bachelor’s degree in history from Wheaton College. He earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from Columbia University. A popular and engaging professor, Bill was visibly delighted with the subjects he taught, particularly Shakespeare and poetry. We dedicate this conference in his honor.
The conference features presentations of scholarly papers and creative writing by undergraduate students from around the country, alongside keynote talks and readings.
