About me
Hi! I'm a pastor in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) with over 35 years of experience serving congregations in Scotland and the United States. For the past 26 years, I have served at Catonsville Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, Maryland.
In addition to being a full-time pastor, I am also a Jungian psychoanalyst. I completed my training at the C.G. Jung Institute in Küsnacht-Zürich, Switzerland, in early 2025, and I have a small practice.
From the CV:
B.A. – Rutgers College Major: Religion and History
M.Div. – Princeton Theological Seminary
Ph.D. – University of St Andrews, Scotland (UK) Field: Practical Theology
I am interested in writing at the nexus of Reformed theology and depth psychology, particularly from a Jungian perspective, as well as in Christian mysticism and psychology.
I have two published books: Encounter and Conviction: The Relational Theology of James E. Loder (Peter Lang, 2009), which was my PhD dissertation at St Andrews, and Out of the Depths: Sermons and Essays (Parson’s Porch, 2016). I have also written articles and contributed chapters to works exploring the intersection of analytical psychology and theology. My current research areas include exploring Jung’s relationships with pastors, theologians, and religious seekers throughout his lifetime.
