About me
Hi there! I'm Laurie. I live in Illinois with my husband and our baby daughter. I've been writing basically my whole life, but now I'm working on turning my creative outlet into a career.
I'm currently searching for the perfect agent to champion my YA Contemporary Fantasy novel, and in the meantime, writing poems and short fiction to send to contests and journals. I write fiction in a variety of genres, but almost all of my stories include sweet but complicated relationships, a strong sense of (real world) place and atmosphere, and a touch of magic. I'm especially drawn to historical, natural, musical, and ocean elements.
I'm also learning how to balance my love of writing with my new role as a parent as well as how I can use my writing to glorify God.
